National and sub-national coastal classification, hazard management and standardized communication schemes are implemented on request. They are carried out as part of our global coastal classification activities and will contribute to making high quality coastal classification data available for national stakeholders and the general public.
The national coastal classification schemes are tailored to national priorities and include the detailed coastal classification activities and relevant training, technical support and policy-activities depending on national requirements.
The Coastal Hazard Wheel App is used for the broader classification and data activities and additional information related to coastal management activities and land-use can be integrated and updated on a continuous basis in cooperation with national stakeholders and institutions.
The broader aim of the national and global classification activities is to obtain a high-quality classification of the world's coastlines for the benefit of both national stakeholders and the international community.
